PINK SKINNED MAN
(SINGLE)

there's nothing in this for me

TWO TRACK 7" ONLY ON KABUKI. CAT NO. KAMD4.

Side a- Pink Skinned Man
Side b- Fictionland

A 'tribute to middle class self torture', this second single began to get the band some attention. Rampant melancholia as sadness and recriminations follow the break down of a relationship. Words and phrases are pulled out of the air randomly- At times a lovers' slanging match, at others more poetic. Sean O'Hagan has possibly never written a better piece of music.

Fiction Land though an equally atmospheric piece of music loses out to some strained vocals. The anger in the singing out of sync with the song. And although this was the much-stated 'contradiction' in Microdisney's music throughout their career, this time it really didn't quite work.
Both songs are contained on the 'Love Your Enemies' CD compilation but this single should still be a part of everyone's collection.
